6th grade Artist
6th Grade Artist: As many enter art in middle school our goal is to promote creativity and critical thinking. Every student has something unique to offer....6th grade is a time where students develop an awareness for Art History, understanding for utilizing elements of art and experimenting with many mediums. Students will enjoy making clay architecture tiles, painting like Georgia O'Keefe, and collaging in a cubistic style. Students start one of their units using Virtual Reality - they explore the Ancient Greek and Roman Architecture.

ART FOR HOSPICE
7th grade have the opportunity to do a painting for a non profit called Art for Hospice. Every year the CEO of AFH delivers a canvas for each 7th grade artist and we choose a theme to paint. This past year the theme was "simple landscape". I am proud of our students and how giving they are of their artwork and time.

8th grade Artist
Digital Portfolios have evolved. 8th grade students are learning to build their own websites. On this website they will be able to document the art digitally, show their cool artistic photography and tell you a little bit about themselves. Another good skill learned and a way to show others their creative side.
